A little about me:
I was born and raised in Berlin, until the age of 14 when I ran away to India and began a life of travel and adventure. I lived and traveled in Germany, India, South Africa,England, Holland, Canada , Thailand, Bali and Australia before falling in love with California andsettling down in the Bay area. I am happily married and live and work in Petaluma, CA, with my husband Patrick and son Max.
On Art:
I am a self taught artist. I have always been compelled to create , be it a landscape in my oatmeal , a sculpture in the sand or a portrait on canvas. I doodle and draw and paint furniture. I got into painting about 17 years ago. (Around the birth of my son)
I am enchanted with color and figures and continue to explore in and marvel at both. I am compelled to express, through painting, what is going on for me or what touches me, be it the love for my child, the amazing power of relationship or the exuberance of dance. My art celebrates life, the fragility and the joy of it.
I apply the same concept, my truths and joy of life, to my non conventional portraits. I am fascinated with humans and other creatures and my paintings tell a little of their story.
I have had many shows at local venues (see listing below) and plan to update this site with info of upcoming exhibits.
